FROM YOUR PASTOR’S HEART March 4, 2024
These are busy days at Cordova Baptist Church. As you may know, we are getting new floor covering on the first floor of our Educational Building. We are also getting some upgrading to our sound system in the sanctuary. This is all being done through generous donations from some members of the Cordova Korean Baptist Church. We are grateful that these improvements are being made to the House of the Lord.
There were some things that needed to be done in preparation for this work. For one thing, the hallway was in need of a fresh coat of paint. I am thankful to my wife, Sandy, for donating her time and talents to get this work done, prior to the laying of the new vinyl plank flooring. There were also some things that needed to be removed from the offices and the choir room before the new flooring is installed. I appreciate our sweet secretary, Joyce Tate, putting in extra time and effort to clear out the Church Office. I am also grateful for Bro. Ken and Cheryl Goldsby, Danny Evans, Josh and Jesse Solis, Glenn and Stephanie Burk, and Jason and Sandy Muston for staying after church on Sunday to work in the choir room. We are blessed to have such dedicated members at Cordova Baptist.
There are always some inconveniences associated with any type of renovations. We are going to have to make some adjustments to our schedule, while the work is being done. The plan is to start work on the floors on Wednesday of this week. That may mean that the Wednesday afternoon streaming Bible Study will be done from somewhere other than my office. Yet, I will get it done! The installation of the new speakers and upgrade to the sound system are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 11th. We are not sure how long this will take, but hopefully we will still be able to meet in the sanctuary for our Wednesday night Prayer Meeting.
While there are always uncertainties with this type of work, what I am sure of is that these improvements will be a blessing to our church family. God has worked in a mighty way to bring our two churches together for His glory. I am confident that the outcome will be beneficial for all of us who share this facility and work together for the common goal of reaching our community for Christ!
Serving in love,
Bro. Jim
