Psalm 39 is a beautiful prayer of petition and confession. David seeks both wisdom and forgiveness from the Lord. The entire prayer is powerful, but this morning I was drawn to verse 4: “Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days. That I may know how frail I am.” He continues this thought on the frailty of men in verse 5, with these words: “Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor.” David recognized his dependency upon God for every breath

One of the greatest gifts that I have ever received is a temperature-controlled coffee mug, given to me by my youngest child, Josh and my daughter, Charissa. For the boy “Growing Up on Dump Ground Road,” school was not too great of a challenge. He was a good student, as far as academics was concerned.
