FROM YOUR PASTOR’S HEART June 24, 2024
Having children in the house makes a huge difference. Sandy and I have two of our sweet “Grands” staying with us this week, Hadley Reese (6) and Charlee Kate (10). It is always a joy to get to spend time with our grandchildren. These precious girls bring a special sense of excitement, since we do not get to see them as often as those who live locally. We are delighted to get to share this time with them and shower them with love!
Having children in God’s House also makes a huge difference. There will also be some special memories made this week in our church building, as Cordova Korean Baptist Church holds their first Vacation Bible School. The conversations might be in a foreign language, but laughter and smiles need no translation. Pray that God uses this time to touch the hearts of the children, as we share the love of Jesus with them. I know that the Lord will bless all who are involved.
Jesus made it clear that children have a special place in the Kingdom of God. He told His disciples in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.” The parents had brought their children to the Lord for Him to bless them and pray for them, but the disciples attempted to turn them away. Jesus told them to allow the children to come to Him. Then, He laid His hands on them, as the parents had requested, before departing.
Having children around is always a special blessing, whether in our house or in God’s House. The Bible is clear that they are a gift from the Lord. We read in Psalm 127:3, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.” Please join me in praying for a week full of blessings for all the children who are on our hearts and “in the house.” May the Lord use this time to draw us all closer to Him and to one another! I love being “Grandpa” and “Mogsa Jim” to all these precious children!
Serving in love,
Bro. Jim
